Bankstown Chinese Baptist Church is an enthusiastic, evangelistic Chinese church, originally established in Bankstown 25 years ago. It was recently relocated to East Hills and the worship service was moved to Sunday afternoon.

We are seeking a Pastor or a ministry worker to oversee Children and Junior youth ministry.

This role will suit someone who is happy to work in a smaller congregation in which reaching out to the community with initiative and warmth is paramount.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the pastoral and gospel ministry relating to children in primary school and junior high school youth (5-9th graders) in church.

• Lead and conduct ministry activities on Sunday afternoon.

• Plan and lead Playgroup ministry on weekdays

• Develop and Teach Bible classes.

• Train ministry volunteers.

• Support women’s ministry (relating to mothers in Playgroup and Children & Junior youth ministry)

• Attend ministry meetings or activities on weekdays or weeknights in occasion.

Qualifications

• Be passionate in children and junior youth ministry.

• Have relevant ministry experience.

• Completed or working towards a certificate in ministry.

• Skilled in interacting with children and junior youth in English, both verbally and in writing.

• Be a mature, proactive, able to independently operate team player.
