Position: Kids Ministry Director
Location: Ryde, Sydney NSW
Employment: Full-time
Commencement: September 2026, or as negotiated
Church: Ryde Baptist Church
Ryde Baptist Church is a healthy, growing, multicultural and multigenerational church in Sydney’s north-west, with a collaborative and supportive staff team. Kids ministry isn’t an add-on here. It’s central to who we are and where we’re heading.
We are seeking a Kids Ministry Director to lead RBC Kids, our ministry to children from birth to Year 6, and to develop the team of volunteer leaders who serve within it.
This role will suit someone who can hold both the big picture and the small details. Someone who can cast vision to a room of volunteers on Sunday and then follow up the roster on Monday, and who is comfortable developing others rather than doing it all themselves.
The role reports to the Discipleship and Community Life Pastor, and provides leadership to our Kids Ministry Assistant and Kids Ministry Intern.
If you love Jesus, care deeply about children and families, and enjoy developing other leaders, we would love to hear from you.

- ·      Manage our Safe Church database (Church Suite) so that RBC Kids is compliant, current and a safe place for every child.
- ·      Work with the wider staff team to advance the church’s vision and ministry objectives.
Qualifications
- ·      A growing and vibrant personal faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrated through Christian character, spiritual maturity and active involvement in a local church.
- ·      Agreement with, and a commitment to uphold, the doctrines, beliefs, objects and values of the Baptist Association of NSW & ACT and Ryde Baptist Church.
- ·      Formal theological training, or a clear commitment to undertake it.
- ·      Experience working with children and families in a church, school, para-church or community setting.
- ·      Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and lead volunteer teams.
- ·      Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- ·      A current Working With Children Check and the ability to meet all child-safe ministry requirements.
Desirable
- ·      Experience leading a children’s ministry across multiple age groups or services.
- ·      Familiarity with Church Suite, Elvanto or a comparable church management system.
- ·      Experience in a multicultural church context.
What We Offer

- ·      The chance to be part of a fun team.
