POSITION PURPOSE
The Discipleship Pastor (DP) is a senior role, responsible for growing and developing a culture of wholehearted discipleship at CityReach West Church. The DP will oversee the spiritual formation and growth of the congregation, guiding individuals into a deeper relationship with Christ through intentional discipleship, teaching, and leadership development. This role is critical in fostering a culture of spiritual maturity, equipping believers to live out their faith in practical ways, and creating opportunities for growth through Bible studies, small groups, and other discipleship programs.
REMUNERATION
To be discussed based on level of experience and qualification – determined by the BCSANT ‘Pastors Stipend/Allowance Recommendations’.
DO YOU..
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, Theology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Master’s degree preferred.
- Have a minimum of 5 years in a pastoral or discipleship leadership role, with a proven track record of leading and developing discipleship ministries.
- Have legal working rights in Australia (Australian citizen or have a work-authorized visa to legally work in Australia).
- Have strong teaching and preaching abilities
- Have Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Display proven leadership and organisational abilities
- Have a passion for mentoring and discipling others
- Possess the ability to work well in a team and collaborate with various ministry leaders
- Be humble, integral and have a servant’s heart
- Be a member of CityReach West or willing to become one
- Provide a satisfactory National Police Check and an active Working with Children Check (WWCC) and undertake the Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training (RAN)
Because of the nature of the role, this person must have appropriate experience and must be able to properly handle confidential information in a careful and secure manner.
This role requires flexibility with hours, including some evenings and weekends for church events and activities, and occasional travel for conferences, retreats, or outreach events.
