About Serpentine Camping Centre:
At our Christian campsite venue in Jarrahdale/Serpentine, we create memorable experiences for our guests through exceptional hospitality. Located just 8 minutes from Byford, our campsite spans 21 acres of bush and pasture, offering a serene backdrop for church camps, school camps, and conferences. Our facilities include an indoor basketball court, a beautiful swimming pool, and other sporting amenities, making it a perfect setting for a variety of events.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Camp Cook to join our team. As a Camp Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests receive delicious and hearty meals. You will work closely with our Catering Coordinator to assist with food preparation, cooking procedures, and meal service. This position is seasonal and primarily involves afternoon and evening shifts with required availability from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with campers in a happy and positive demeanour.
• Collaborate with the Catering Coordinator in preparing and serving meals for camp guests.
• Work with and manager junior staff on each shift.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health requirements, including safe food handling procedures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our camping ministry through excellent food service.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist in inventory management, food ordering, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
• Availability to work evenings, including weekends.
• Current Police check.
• Current Working With Children card.
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Uphold the values and ethos of the Baptist Union of WA.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Previous experience in food service or camp catering is a plus.
