Founded in 1984 and formerly known as Thornlie Christian College, Providence Christian College is strategically situated in Southern River, adjacent to Canning Vale. This esteemed co-ed school has a rich history spanning over 40 years. The college accommodates over 1,060 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Deputy Principal at Providence Christian College, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with the school’s Christian ethos and compliance with relevant regulations. Provide executive support to the Principal, enabling focus on spiritual and academic leadership. Demonstrate the ability to step in and act as Principal whenever required, fostering a nurturing and inclusive college community. Contribute to financial management and strategic planning per the school’s mission.
This role directly reports to the Principal. You will also facilitate strong communication between the Principal and their direct reports, including the Heads and Deputy Heads of the Primary, Middle, and Secondary Schools and the Business Manager. Additionally, you will meet with a well-balanced board every month.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
⏺Preparation & Oversight: College duty roster, calendar, & timetables.
⏺Policy Management & Compliance: Oversee 80+ policies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with the latest legislation, regulations, and accreditation standards.
⏺Executive Administrative Support: Manage admin responsibilities to enhance the Principal’s availability and engagement with the college community.
⏺Vibrant, People-Centred Leader: Ability to temporarily assume the role of principal when absent, i.e., communication with staff, students & parents or PR.
⏺Financial Acumen: Attend financial meetings alongside the Principal, school heads, and board members.
⏺Conflict Resolution: Assist the Principal in promptly resolving escalated issues or concerns from the heads of the senior or primary schools. Provide specific advice on government and legal considerations.
Ad hoc Recruitment: Manage induction and onboarding checklist for new staff.

ABOUT YOU
Ideal Skills
Have
⏺Master’s degree in education or a related field
⏺5+ years of experience in a similar role
⏺Proficient in TASS (Alpha) Learning Management System
⏺Exceptional written & verbal English skills
⏺Technically efficient (i.e. comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite).
Ability to
⏺Work collaboratively within a team
⏺Communicate proactively across all levels of the organisation
⏺Maintain strong attention to detail
⏺Uphold and exemplify the College’s values and behaviours
⏺Willingness to promote and embody the principles and values of the Christian Church.
