Position Description
Job Title: Storeman and Purchasing Officer
Location: KW Automation, 158 Old Bowling Green Road, Palmwoods, QLD
Reports To: Workshop Foreman
Purpose of the Role
The Storeman and Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing inventory, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring efficient handling of stock and supplies. This role ensures that materials are sourced, received, and maintained in accordance with company standards to support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
·       Inventory Management on our ERP software (ECI M1)
·       Maintain accurate stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and update records in the system.
·       Receive, inspect, and store materials in accordance with company procedures.
·       Identify and report discrepancies or damaged stock.
·       Ensure the warehouse and storage areas remain organized and compliant with safety regulations.
Purchasing and Supplier Coordination
·       Source and negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective procurement of materials and equipment.
·       Raise purchase orders, track deliveries, and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely arrivals.
·       Maintain strong relationships with vendors to optimize pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
·       Conduct market research to identify alternative suppliers and improve procurement efficiency.
Logistics and Distribution
·       Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring all goods are handled correctly.
·       Manage freight and logistics to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
·       Ensure proper documentation and compliance with transportation regulations.
Compliance and Quality Control
·       Ensure all stock and purchased items meet company quality standards and specifications.
·       Implement and follow procedures for handling hazardous materials, if applicable.
·       Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance purposes.
Qualifications and Skills
·       Previous experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or purchasing.
·       Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and logistics.
·       Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
·       Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
·       Forklift license (if applicable).
Work Conditions
·       Warehouse and office environment.
·       May involve manual handling and occasional travel for supplier negotiations or stock pickups.

·      Current Australian Driver’s licence

·      Demonstrated experience in or an ability to rapidly acquire skills necessary to support the key responsibilities of the position description.
Technical Competence:
·   Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and technical drawings to identify correct parts to meet customer requirements.
