Serpentine Camping Centre is currently seeking a Junior Kitchen Hand to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a friendly, camp-based environment and is keen to support the catering operations team. The position requires evening and weekend availability, and may at times include Sunday shifts, depending on camp bookings. Training is provided, and we’re looking for someone reliable, willing to learn, and happy to be part of a supportive, service‑focused team.
Job Responsibilities
As a Junior Kitchen Hand, you will:
- Assist the Catering Senior with all food-related services for camp guests.
- Support basic food preparation tasks as directed.
- Assist with serving meals to campers and staff.
- Help with dishes, cleaning, and maintaining general kitchen hygiene.
- Carry out other kitchen-related tasks as needed.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment, following appropriate food handling procedures.
About the Campsite Venue:
Located just 8 minutes’ drive from Byford and set on 21 acres of bush and pasture, with an indoor basketball court, a beautiful swimming pool and other sporting facilities, we specialise in Church camps, school camps and conferences.
Requirements:
- Compliance of occupational safety and health requirements. Foodsafe training and Training for safe use of chemicals will be provided.
- Contributing to the continuous quality of improvement of the camping ministry.
- Required to work as a casual on both weekdays and weekends.
